During his 38-year career in building drum sets and being a musician, Bernie has had numerous memorable experiences throughout the world and has met many famous musicians. Those famous musicians include legendary drummer and big band leader Buddy Rich (see separate article); Neal Peart of Rush; William F. Ludwig II, son of the founder of the famous Ludwig Drum Company, along with his grandson Billy Ludwig; legendary percussionist Ted Reed; Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick; Chris McHugh from the Nashville Studio, who is on Carrie Underwood’s staff; Larrie Londin from the Nashville Studio, who once played with Elvis; Mick Brown from Dokken; Eric Carr, the former KISS drummer; and Ted Nugent. He is also a friend of Kenny Aronoff from John Mellencamp’s band.

“I’ve experienced a lot of cool things and met a lot of legendary artists, not only as a musician, but as a drum craftsman,” he reminisces. “Drums are my life, and they’ve been very good to me.” Bernie hopes to have many more good years to continue sharing his passion with the world.
